Lidia Beecher ¹

   Other names for Lidia were Lydia Beecher and Lydia Bicher.

  Noted events in her life were:

1. Census in 1850 in Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. ¹ We can suppose young Lidia's surname is not likely Beecher, but rather Bicher, or Bücher, since no one else had the surname Beecher in Lebanon County during this census, but we report it as shown on the Census page:

A Lidia Beecher, age 6, is living as the only person with that surname in the household of Jacob Goodhart, age 42, the justice of the peace. In his household are these Goodharts: Joel, 35, watchmaker; William, 27, printer; Lidia, 42; Elizabeth, 39; Catherine, 37; Cicilia, 32.

We can suppose Lidia Beecher is named after Lidia, 42, and that one of these ladies is likely her mother, now living again at home with the father rather than the husband. Another good theory: Lidia age 42 was married to another man when the younger Lidia was born, and now has a second marriage to Jacob Goodhart. If so, a possible match would by Lydia Bicher born 1809 found in our tree.

To add to the mystery, also on page 137 (next leave) in this census is the household of William Bicher born 1801, who likely is a relative considering how close in proximity the Goodhart home is to his.
