Census in 1880 in Gahanna, Franklin, OH. 2 Henry Beecher, salon keeper, 56, was living with Catherine, 26; son Adam, barber, 28; daughter-in-law Elizabeth Beecher, 21; and step son George Occkey or Rockey [handwriting unclear], 9. Everyone was born in Ohio except Henry in Pennsylvania, as was his parents. Henry's wife's parents were from Germany. Son Adam's parents were from Pennsylvania, indicating that Catherine is not his mother and is Henry's daughter or possibly second wife. Elizabeth's father was from West Virginia and mother from Ohio. Mary married Adam Beecher, son of Henry Beecher and Catharine Shirk.1 The marriage ended in divorce in Sep 1897.
