Johannes Bucher
(1781-1846) |
Johannes Bucher 1 2 3 4 5 6 7
Other names for Johannes were John Boucher,8 Johann Bucher, Johannes Bucher 7 9 and John Bucher. General Notes: No Buchers are living in Pinegrove Township in the 1800 Census, let alone near the Jonathan Zerbe family where we find Jonathan Bucher in 1810 and 1820. We suspect he moved into the area in 1809 right after the birth of his son Jacob. Birth Notes: The typewritten transcript of the St. John's church record book shows his birth data as 7 Feb 1781, yet the typewritten transcript of his tombstone shows it as 7 Feb 1780. We believe one or the other is a typo, more than likely the tombstone since it was common to baptize a child about a month following birth. Inspection of the original tombstone or the original handwritten church records will identify the correct year. We are certain this Johann is the same person because other evidence proves so. Christening Notes: Sponsor was Peter Brunner and wife Barbara. Burial Notes: His tombstone reads: "husband of Anna Maria Bucher, nee Knisin" Noted events in his life were: 1. He has conflicting birth information of 7 Feb 1780 and , Lancaster, PA. 1 2 4 6 2. In 1809 in Annville: Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lebanon, PA. 3 His son, Jacob, is baptized in Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Annville. 3. He appeared as a sponsor at a baptism on 18 Jul 1824 at Pine Grove Twp.: St. Peter's Lutheran Church, Schuylkill, PA. Johan & Annamaria Bucher were sponsors for baptism of Sara Huber, b. 2 Jan 1822, bpt 18 Jul 1824, parents Johan & Elisabeth Huber. Johannes married Anna Maria Knisin. (Anna Maria Knisin was born on 15 Nov 1785 in , , PA,11 12 died on 11 Oct 1865 in Perry Twp., Snyder, PA 11 12 and was buried in Perry Twp.: Arbogast's Cemetery - Zion's Church, Snyder, PA 11 12.) |
