3. Census in 1850 in Roaring Creek Twp., Montour, PA. ⁴ George Bucher, shoemaker, 32, was living with Elizabeth, 27; daughter Sarah C., 6; son Eli Diemer, 1. Also with them: Gideon Geiger, laborer, 36. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

4. Census in 1860 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. ¹ The 1860 census lists George Bucher, 42, shoemaker, living with Elizabeth, 36; Sarah C., 15, teacher elect; and Eliza A., 5. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

5. Census in 1870 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. ⁵ In the East Ward in Sunbury we find two Bucher families on the same 1870 Census page:

George Bucher, shoemaker, 51, is with wife Elizabeth, 48, and daughter Elizabeth, 14. His real estate is valued at $1800 and possessions $200. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

Martin E. Bucher, county commissioner, 57, is living with wife Lucy, 57; George, R.R. clerk, 25; Elizabeth, 26, "in the family"' Charles, 19, "at home"; and Martin, 11. Martin has no real estate value, so he is probably renting; his possessions are worth $200. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

6. Census in 1880 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. ² George Bucher, 61, R. R. Waterman, is living with Elizabeth, 58; and Eliza A., 24, teacher. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

Elizabeth married George Bucher, son of Henry Bucher and Elizabeth Mantz. (George Bucher was born about 1818 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA ^{3 4}.)
