2. Census in 1870 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. 6 In the East Ward in Sunbury we find two Bucher families on the same 1870 Census page:

George Bucher, shoemaker, 51, is with wife Elizabeth, 48, and daughter Elizabeth, 14. His real estate is valued at $1800 and possessions $200. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

Martin E. Bucher, county commissioner, 57, is living with wife Lucy, 57; George, R.R. clerk, 25; Elizabeth, 26, "in the family"' Charles, 19, "at home"; and Martin, 11. Martin has no real estate value, so he is probably renting; his possessions are worth $200. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

3. Census in 1880 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. 2 Martin P. Bucher, 60, laborer, is living with wife Lucy A., 60; and son Martin, 21, laborer. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.

4. Census in 1900 in Sunbury, Northumberland, PA. 4 Renting a home at 140 Bainbridge Street in Sunbury in 1900 is Martin E. Bucher, age 79, born April 1821, widower, who was living with son Martin, laborer R.R., born May 1859, single. Also with them was grandson Albert C. Bucher, 13, born May 1887. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania.
