Newspaper: Lebanon Daily News: Jackson Township crash causes injuries and diesel spill, 8 Oct 2013, Lebanon, Lebanon, PA. ² Two people were injured shortly after 1 p.m. Monday when the Ford pickup truck they were traveling in collided with a tractor-trailer in the 400 block of North College Street, which is also Route 501, in Jackson Township, state police at Lickdale said.
Luke Bucher, 75, of Myerstown, who was driving the pickup, and 47 year-old Darryl Diamond of Lebanon, were taken by ambulance to Reading Hospital with moderate injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, Marco Vasquez, 63, Nanuet, NY, was not injured.

Police said, Vasquez was traveling southbound on North College Street when he lost control of his truck, which jackknifed, blocking both lanes. Bucher's northbound pickup swerved to avoid the truck but struck its passenger side saddle tank, causing it to rupture and spill diesel on the road. Vasquez was charged with a lane violation. Lebanon County Hazardous Materials Unit assisted Myerstown's Keystone Hook and Ladder, and Goodwill fire companies.

Also assisting was Myerstown EMS, First Aid and Safety Patrol, and fire police from Kutztown and Myerstown's fire companies.

Luke married Naomi M. Patches, daughter of Howard W. Patches and Martha H. Cassell. (Naomi M. Patches was born on 24 Nov 1938 in S. Lebanon Twp., Lebanon, PA and was buried in Reistville: Heidelberg Church of the Brethren Cemetery, Lebanon, PA.)
