1. Obituary: Deseret News on 31 Aug 2012 in Salt Lake City, Salt Lake, UT. ⁴ Kenneth W. Yeates died on August 27, 2012. He was born on July 7, 1942, the eldest child of Alice Moyle and Kenneth W. Yeates, Jr. He was the oldest of seven children. He grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah and Idaho Falls, Idaho. After graduating from Harvard College and serving a Church mission in Germany, he graduated from the University of Chicago Law School. He practiced law for over 43 years in Salt Lake City, principally with Prince, Yeates, and Geldzahler; VanCott, Bagley, Cornwall, and McCarthy; and Savage, Yeates, and Waldron.
On July 14, 1967, he married Margaret Jane Beecher in Salt Lake City, Utah; they later divorced. They were the parents of four children: Elisa Morrill (Scott), Kenneth Beecher (Chiara), Kathryn, and Margaret Burgoyne (Spencer).
He is survived by his mother Alice, his ex-wife Jane (it's complicated), his siblings: Marian; Marie; Henry; Charles; Elizabeth; and Alice; his four children; and his beloved grandchildren: Elisabeth; Anna; Spencer; Rebecca; Kenneth M.; Nathan; James; and Lila.
In following his wishes, there will be no funeral services. The family would like to sincerely thank everyone involved in providing Ken with the wonderful care and loving support he received.
