Born in Twelve Mile to Ora W. "Pat" and Gertrude HOPKINS GRABLE, he married Jean BEECHER on June 20, 1948 in Twelve Mile. She survives.

Mr. Grable was a U.S. Army World War II veteran. He was co-owner of Grable Chevrolet, Twelve Mile from 1928-1981 and retired from Mike Anderson Pontiac in 1992. He was a member of Corinth Brethren Church, Twelve Mile.

Survivors include one son, Dennis E. and wife Pam GRABLE, Dayton, Ohio; one daughter, Jennifer M. and husband Rex RUDICEL, Twelve Mile; five grandchildren, Brian D. GRABLE, Beverly, Mass., Jill D. GRABLE, Bowling Green, Ohio, Chad William RUDICEL, Craig Douglas RUDICEL and Jaime Lynn RUDICEL, all of Twelve Mile; two great-grandchildren, Scott [RUDICEL] and Lucas RUDICEL, Twelve Mile; one sister. Phyllis WRAY, Twelve Mile; one half-brother, Gary GRABLE, Twelve Mile. He was preceded in death by one brother, Ned T. GRABLE.

Services are 10 a.m. Monday at McClain Funeral Home, Denver. Rev. Rod SCHULER and Rev. Mark BRITTON will offictate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Saint Vincent Cardiac Unit.

Merrill married Alma Jean Beecher, daughter of Clinton Everett Beecher and Grace Hazel Condon, on 20 Jun 1948 in Twelve Mile, Cass, IN.^{1 2} (Alma Jean Beecher was born on 1 Mar 1930 in Bethlehem Twp., Cass, IN,^{6 7 8} died on 2 May 2006 in Indianapolis, Marion, IN ^{6 7} and was buried on 6 May 2006 in Mexico: Green Lawn Cemetery, Miami, IN ^{6 7}.)
