Beidel, carpet weaver, 53, Aug 1846, married 19 years to Katie A. [nee Beecher], 40, Aug 1859. She had birthed five children, all alive in 1900: Clarence J., barber, 17, Apr 1883; Emma E., 15, Jan 1885; Charles H., 13, May 1887; John A., 7, Sept 1892; and Harry F., 4, May 1896. Everyone and their parents were born in Pennsylvania, except the elder Charles' parents were from Germany.

Obituary: News-Chronicle: obituary of Charles Henry Beidel on 15 Nov 1955 in Shippensburg, Franklin, Pennsylvania, USA. 3 Funeral services were held Monday at 2 p. m. from the Van Scyoc funeral home, Shippensburg, for Charles Henry Beidel, 68, who died suddenly Thursday at 3 p. mi at his home. Death of the retired Reading railroad man was attributed to a heart attack. A son of the late Charles William and Katie A. Beecher Beidel, he was born May 22, 1887 at Hays Grove. Mr. Beidel was a member of the Hays Grove Evangelical United Brethren church and of the Brotherhood of Maintenance Employees of the railroad. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Zella Susan Lautsbaugh Beidel, and five children, George W. Beidel of Carlisle; Mrs. John K. Lautsbaugh of Walnut Bottom; Mrs. Lester K. Burkholder of Rox-bury rd., Shippensburg; Mrs. Samuel Alleinan of Shippensburg R. R. 3, and Kenneth E. Beidel of Shippensburg R. R. 2. Other survivors include three brothers and a sister, Clarence J. Beidel of New Castle, Ind.; Mrs. Emma Jones of Gaston, Ind; Harry F. Beidel of Walnut Bottom, and John A. Beidel of Shippensburg; 19 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Rev. Walter Gable of Oakville officiated with Rev. Amos Funk of Chambersburg assisting. Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery.
