In their home were son Edward W., 21; his wife Sarah A. M., 22; and their son Franklin F., 6 months old when the census was recorded 7 Jun 1880. Edward, Sarah and Franklin were born in Pennsylvania.

Cavender, who observed their golden wedding anniversary yesterday were surprised last evening by a number of intimate friends who called at their home, 407 Sixth avenue, to celebrate the occassion.
Mrs. Cavender, who before her marriage was Miss Sally Beecher, and E. W. Cavender, both of this city were united in marriage 50 years ago yesterday by the Rev. Spangler. They have resided in this city all of their wedded life. To the union two children were born, one child having died some time ago and the other is George Cavender, Altoona. Mr. Cavender is a retired Pennsylvania Railroad man, having been employed in the car shops. Both he and his wife are in good health.
The evening was spent in a delightful way and at a late hour delicious refreshments were served.
