Note for researches: The fact that this Bucher is living as neighbors with the Kettering and Mishler families in the 1860 Census in Indiana makes one wonder if there is a tie to descendents of the Benedict Bucher family from Cocalico Township in Lancaster County, PA.   Noted events in his life were:

1. Census in 1860 in Huntington Twp., Huntington, IN. ¹ Samuel Bucher, age 28, farmer, is living with wife Eliza J., 23; daughters Sarah E., 3 and Marcy C. 10 months old on June 11th, 1860 when the census was recorded. Everyone was born in Ohio, except the baby in Indiana. Samuel's farm was worth $2,500 and his possessions $500. Post office is Huntington. Neighbors on the same page are Mishler and Kettering families, significant in that a Lancaster County, PA Bucher family married into those lines then migrated west.
