Newspaper: New Bloomfield Times: From the Cumberland papers last week: David Beecher involved in accident, 6 Sep 1881, New Bloomfield, Perry, PA. 13 Last Thursday Joseph Shenabrough, a tenant living on the farm of Wm. Wagner, met with an accident. Mr. David Beecher, who owns a separator which is propelled by horse power, was threshing for Mr. Shenabrough. Mr. S., being the driver, got off the power to adjust a block that the coupling runs on. By so doing one leg of his pantaloons was caught by the knuckles of the coupling and every vestige of clothing was torn from his body. Before Mr. S. got away the sweep of the power came around and passed over him bruising him considerably. Mr. Shanabrough is dangerously hurt above the abdomen. He made a very narrow escape from being killed. 7.
