Also in the home: Marcus L, 77 [Samuel's father?]; Peter Nellis, 19, laborer; and Mary Esser, 21, servant. Samuel's real estate was worth $20,000. Samuel and Caroline were born in New York, Carrie in Pennsylvania, and their other children in Ohio. Marcus L. was from Conn. and Nellis and Esser from Germany.

Samuel married Caroline Matilda Walker in 1844 in Erie, Erie, PA.¹ (Caroline Matilda Walker was born on 8 Aug 1828 in Utica, Oneida, NY ² and died in 1896.)
