Everyone was born in Pennsylvania. [Note: this wife's age matches his second wife, Catherine Beecher (born 1826) and not first wife Catharine Frye (born 1820) plus Beecher's child Henry Shank is living in Daniel's household, born of her first husband Isaac Shank. All other children are by Daniel's first wife.].

Personally appeared before me the subscriber the recorder of deeds in and for said County Cecilla Saltzgiver daughter of petitioner who being duly sworn doth say they she saw two armed Rebels drive away from the premises of Daniel Saltzgiver (her father) one Red & White Heiffer the Property of Daniel Saltzgiver on the second day of July 1863 and that forty dollars ia fair valuation of the same, and that the same has never been returned.
