A surprise party was tendered to Mr. Otto Holscher last Saturday evening at his home, 812 North Carey street, in honor of his birthday. During the evening vocal and instrumental music was rendered by Miss Catherine D. Parkerson, Miss Daisy Holscher, Dr. Thomas H. Charmbury, Mr. Aaron Hosfall, Mr. Walter Charmbury and Mr. Otto Holscher. After playing games refreshments were served. In the center of the table was a large fruit cake decorated with lighted candles, one for each year of the recipient's age. Those present were:

Mesdames - Margaret Sutor, Mitchell.

5. Census in 1910 in Baltimore, Baltimore, MD. 9 The 1910 census recorded Otto B. Holscher, 65, born in Germany, living with wife Eusebia J., 64; boarder Marion Beecher, 71; and boarder Anna B. Sutor, 34. The women were all born in Maryland.

6. Census in 1920 in Baltimore, Baltimore, MD. 4 Marion Beecher, boarder, 81, was living in the household of Harry A. Holicher, 43, and his wife Carrie C., 36. With them was daughter Esther E., 13; and Otto B. Holicher, 74, and his wife Usebia I., 73. Otto immigrated in 1865 from Hamburg, Germany; he and his parents were born in Germany. Everyone else was born in Maryland. Harry was secretary at a granite company. Harry owed the home at 424 N Carey St. [Usebia is actually Eusebia, Marion's sister.].

7. Obituary: Baltimore Sun: obituary of Otto B. Holscher on 7 Mar 1920 in Baltimore, Baltimore, MD. 3 Otto B. Holscher, who had been senior member of the Baltimore Chair and Furniture Company until last October, when he retired, died last night at his home, 421 North Carey street, from heart trouble. He had been ill since last September.

Mr. Holscher, who was 75 years old, was born in Hanover, Germany. He came to the United States when 18 years of age. For several years he was treasurer of St. Barnabas' Protestant Episcopal Church, previous to its amalgamation with other congreations in the formation of the Protestant Episcopal Cathedral of Maryland.

He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Eusebia Holscher; a son, Harry A. Holscher; a daughter, Mrs. Thomas H. Charmbury, of Hanover, Pa., and three grandchildren.


Otto married Eusebia I. Beecher, daughter of William W. Beecher and Sarah Maria Guthrie, on 25 Oct 1871 in Baltimore: English Evangelical Lutheran Church, Baltimore, MD. (Eusebia I.
