Beecher, a veteran of the Civil War, died Tuesday morning at 4:30 o'clock at his residence, near Waynesboro, aged 60, 2 months and 5 days. His death was due to a complication of heart trouble, dropsy and gangrene. Though in ill health all winter, he was only confined to bed for the last two weeks. Mr. Beecher was a son of John Beecher, Sr., and was born and reared in Gettysburg.
