  Noted events in his life were:

1. Military in 1863: Union Army, Company E, 151st Regiment. 1 He was killed in a battle in Frederick, MD. In 1867 his remains were relocated to Antietam National Cemetery. Company E was recruited out of Berks County and mustered into service at at Camp Curtin in Harrisburg from Oct. 17 to Nov. 3, 1862.
