(Abt 1710-) |
|
William Beaker
- Born: Abt 1710
- Marriage (1): Magdalena
- Died: , Frederick, MD
Noted events in his life were:
1. Census on 9 Aug 1776 in , Frederick, MD. 1 In the 1776 of Frederick County, Elizabeth Hundred, taken by John Miller, completed by 9 Aug 1776 and sworn before James Beall, Jr., was listed:
Peter Beaker, age 38 Christiana Beaker, age 32 John Beaker, 2 Susanna Beaker, 7 Elizabeth Beaker, 4 Elisabeth Beaker, 3 William Beaker, age 66 Magdalena Beeker, age 66
[Note: the census page did not list the family together, but under sex/age categories; we have assumed these people are all related since they are the only ones sharing this surname or any similiar sounding spelling of it. However, with two daughters Elizabeth age 4 and 3, the validity of this family structure requires further research.]
The Elizabeth One Hundred tax district was later named Elizabeth Town, and in 1814 given a new name, Hager's Town.
The following article available online at Google Books lists tombstones in Hagerstown and in Appendix A following the cemterly listings discusses the Elizabeth Hundred. The point made is that many names on the 1776 Elizabeth Hundred tax list are found on the Hagerstown tombstones, evidence the location was the same.

William married Magdalena. (Magdalena was born about 1710 1 and died in , Frederick, MD 1.)
