2. Obituary: in 1899. William H. Bucher, son of Mr and Mrs T. W. Bucher, was born in Holmes county, Ohio, March 7th, 1873, Died at the family home in Gravity, Iowa, at 7 o'clock pm., August 3d, 1899. Aged 26 years, 4 months, 26 days.
Deceased was an amiable christian young man and identified himself with the church at Prarie Grove, Arkansas, in his 18th year. He soon became deacon of that church which capacity he served until moved with his father's family to Gravity in '98, where he immediately identified himself with the Christian church and was made deacon last spring. In both his private and public life he was a zealous and faithful christian, an honest industrious boy and man, an effectionate son, brother and companion and an ideal character of christian perfection, nobility and social purity. In brief, his short but pure life was absolutely above reproach and criticism which leaves the cleanest possible evidence that he is now enjoying the endless blessings of peace and contentment around the generalizing spleandor of the snow white throne, where sorrow and sickness is never felt and the sting of death is never experienced. He leaves a father, mother and ten brothers and sisters to mourn his loss who have the sympathy and consolation of a host of friends and neighbors in this their sad hour of sorrow and bereavement. Funeral services were held at the Christian church Friday, August 4, conducted by Elder Johnson who was assisted by Rev Kirkendall and Dunlavy, after which the remains were laid in their last resting place in the Gravity cemetery.
