2. Census in 1860 in Queenstown, Queen Anne's, MD. ³ James Bucher [indexed in census as Bucher but handwriting is clearly Beecher], sailor, 55, was married to Sarah, 46. Living with them: William, sailor, 24; James, 22. James was born in England, the others in Maryland. His real estate was worth $1,000 and personal estate $600.

3. Census in 1900 in Queenstown, Queen Anne's, MD. ¹ James Beecher, bridge keeper, 63, born Sep 1836, was married for 35 years to Louisa, 56, born Jan 1844. She had birthed 13 children, 6 still alive in 1900. Living with them: Joseph H., 23, Feb 1877; Luther L., 21, Apr 1879; William, 15; Sep 1884; Benjamin F., 13, Oct 1886. Also with them: Richard L. Collier, brother in law, 35, Apr 1865, indicating that Louisa a Collier. Everyone and their parents were born in Maryland.

Wrightson Beecher, 28, born Feb 1872, was married for 6 years to wife Sallie, 25, Feb 1875. She had birthed 3 children, one still alive in 1900: Mildred, 1, born Aug 1878. Sallie and her parents were born in Delaware, all others and their parents in Maryland. Wrightson's occupation was "oyster tonger."
