I Thomas Segner finding myself middling well of bodily health thanks be to God, and yet of a sound retaining mind memory and good understanding, having therefore determined within myself to make this my last will and testament in manner following to wit, first it is my will and I order that all my just debts and funeral charges shall be paid out of my whole estate further is my will and order that my whole estate both real and personal after my death shall be sold by public vendue, and the monies therefore arising shall be equally inherited by all my children, after my just debts and other costs and charges are paid, and after my eldest son Melchior hath received the sum of two pounds ten shillings extra ordinary for his birth right, finally I constitute and appoint as executors to execute this my last will and testament after my death my friends Peter Shweitzer and Peter Baker, and I give them full power to make sale of my aforesaid Estate, as aforesaid, and to give proper and lawful conveyance for the same and I acknowledge the same to be as valid and awful as if done by myself, hereby satisfying and confirming this to be my last will and testament and annulling all former. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal on the day and year above written. Thomas Segner (SEAL) Signed sealed and declared by the said Thomas Segner as his last will and testament in the presence of us and upon whose request have subscribed the name as witnesses John Bear Henry Bear Lancaster County on the 6th day of September Anno Domini 1794 Before me the subscriber personally appeared John Bear and Henry Bear the two subscribing witnesses to the within will, who upon their solemn affirmations according to law did declare and say that they were present and saw and heard Thomas Segner, the testator, therein named, sign seal publish pronounce and declare the within writing as and for his last will and testament, and that at the doing thereof, he was of sound and well dispensing mind memory and understanding to the best of their knowledge observation and belief. G. Ross, Register Be it remembered that on the 6th day of September Anno Domini 1794, the last will and testament of Thomas Segner late of Brecknock Township in the County of Lancaster deceased was proved in due form of law, and Letters Testamentary thereon were granted to Peter Sweitzer and Peter Becker the executors therein named, they having first been duly qualified well and truly to administer the Estate of the said deceased, especially to exhibit a true and perfect inventory thereof into the Registers Office at Lancaster within one month from this date, and to render a true and just account of their Executorship on said estate in one year or when thereto lawfully required given under the seal of said office.
