Former Aid Society's Charge Failed to Return to Her Home Thursday
WEST CHESTER, May 17. Police of Chester county are searching for Helen Beecher, 16, a ward of Mrs. B. Radiochi. of near Rocky Hill, the girl having been lost since Thursday evening, when she started for Rocky Hill to purchase bread. The girl is large for her age, well developed and good-looking. Until last autumn she was a pupil at the Rocky Hill school. Her parents formerly lived in West Chester, but both died and she was taken by the Children's Aid Society, Philadelphia. She had no close male friends as far as is known. A quarter of a mile from the store is a tract of woodland bordering the road and she was seen to pass through this to the north side by Mary Esbin. The girl looked back and saw Helen followed a few hundred yards in the rear. Her disappearance was not reported until last night and then neighbors searched without result. A theory that the girl had gone to the home of relatives in Coatesville was explored by officers. Members of the family think the girl has been carried off by a motoring party.
