1. Obituary: the Leader on 17 Aug 1993 in Corning, Steuben, NY. Bernice Buckley Bucher, 88, of 225 E. Pulteney St, died Sunday, Aug 15, 1993in Corning Hospital.
She was born July 14, 1905 in Savona, the daughter of Harry and Marilla VANGELDER Bulkley. She was married in 1925 to Fred Bucher, who died in 1984.
She was a graduate of Haverling High School and Northside Teachers' Training Class. She also attended Geneseo State Teachers College.
She was an elementary teacher in area schools early in her life.
She was an active member of the First Congregational Church and was a life member of O.E.S. #351.
Surviving are: a son, Bert Bucher of Davis Road, South Corning; a daughter, Kay Fralick of Pittsford, N.Y; one sister, Myrtle Haynor of Lake Worth, Fla; four granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be at the convenience of the family.
Burial will be in Coopers Plains Cemetery. Memorial Contributions maybe made in her name to the First Congregational Church Memorial Fund. The Beilby Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
