Census in 1880 in Madison Twp., Montgomery, OH. ¹ The 1880 census recorded Magdalena Becher, widowed, 65, living next door to her son, David Becher, boot and shoe maker, 33, and his wife Caroline, 30; son Franklin W., 4; and daughter Nellie, 6 months born in Feb 1870. Magdalena and her parents were born in Pennsylvania. David was born in Ohio, his parents in Pennsylvania. Caroline and her mother were born in Ohio and her father in Virginia. Franklin was born in Ohio, his father David in Ohio but his mother in Indiana, suggesting Caroline isn't his mother. Nellie and her parents were born in Ohio.
