Also in the home was Mary Bucher, 90. John, Amanda and Mary were born in Pennsylvania, Jef. in Ohio, and the others in Virginia. His real estate was worth $700.

2. Census in 1860 in , Hancock, VA. 3 John Buehr, farmer, 57, was living with wife Amanda, 45; Jefferson, farmer, 20; Washington, 15; Mary, 13; Saml, 10; Emaline, 7; John W., 1. His real estate was worth $3,000. The parents were born in Pennsylvania, Jefferson in Ohio, and the others in Virginia. The post office is East Liverpool, Ohio.

3. Census in 1870 in Grant Twp., Hancock, WV. 5 Saml M. Bucher, farmer, 20, was living with mother Amanda, 53; sisters Mary, 22, and Emeline, 16; brother John, 13; and sister Alice, 11. Everyone was born in Virginia except Amanda in Pennsylvania. Samuel has no real estate value, but Amanda's farm was worth $12,000 and personal estate $800. The post office was New Cumberland.

4. Census in 1880 in Grant Twp., Hancock, WV. 6 Several Bucher households were neighbors.

Samuel married Ella Catherine Poe, daughter of Captain Adam Poe and Lucie Todd Smith, on 16 Mar 1872 in Georgetown: Methodist Episcopal Church, Beaver, PA.1 (Ella Catherine Poe was born on 16 Mar 1853 in Georgetown, Beaver, PA 1 4 6 and died on 25 Aug 1939 1.)
