2. Obituary: Inter-Mountain Globe on 25 Nov 1915 in Hulett, Crook, WY, United States. 2 HENRY BUCHER. Henry Bucher, one of the well known and respected citizens of Belle Fourche, died very suddenly at his home on South Maple street last Tuesday morning, the immediate cause of his death being a paralytic stroke, being the second attack of the kind within the past month. Several weeks ago Mr. Bucher suffered a severe attack of this nature at his ranch in Wyoming, and was brought to this city for treatment. He seemed to recover rapidly and was soon able to get around as usual. Mr. Bucher was attending to his business affairs on the streets last Monday and appeared to be feeling as well as ever, and the news of his sudden demise was a great shock to his many friends. The remains were taken to Churdan, Iowa, on Wednesday evening for interment, being accompanied there by the surviving relatives. Henry Bucher was born in Lancaster county, Pennsylvania, September 27, 1842. His parents moved to Wayne county, Ohio, in 1843, where they resided until the fall of 1848, later moving to Mt. Vernon, Iowa, and from there they moved to Cedar county Iowa, where he remained until he was twenty one years of age. In the fall of 1864 he enlisted in the Union army, and was with Sherman in his march to the sea. It was during his campaign in South Carolina that he was taken ill and lay for four weeks between life and death. He was later transferred from Beaufort, South Carolina, to Long Island, New York, and from there to Keokuk, Iowa, and later to Davenport, Iowa, where he was discharged from the service in 1866. In 1870 Mr. Bucher was united in marriage to Miss Lena Herbst at Cedar county, Iowa, where they resided until the fall of 1874, later moving to Jefferson county, Iowa, where they took up 160 acres of land. Here they made their home until the fall of 1899, coming to Sioux Falls where Mr. Bucher purchased 400 acres of land. He sold his place at Sioux Falls in 1909, coming to Belle Fourche, and purchased 1,500 acres of land in Wyoming, and also a residence property in this city. The deceased is survived by his widow, Mrs. Henry Bucher, of this city; two sons Ivan and Rufus Bucher, of Wyoming; Archie, Bert, and Ebbe Bucher, of Sioux Falls and a daughter, Mrs. Charles Martin, Jefferson county, Iowa; three brothers, Joe Bucher, of Nebraska, John Bucher, of Missouri; and Mart Bucher, of Iowa; and one sister, Emma Miller, of Jefferson county, Iowa. - Northwest Post.
