1. Census in 1850 in Richland Twp., Allen, OH. ¹ Christian Bucher, farmer, 37, was living with wife Anna, 32; Barbara, 11; Fanny, 8; Christian, 7; Ulrich, 4; David, 2; and John, 1. The children were born in Ohio, the parents were born in Germany [error: should be Switzerland.] His real estate was worth $600.

A few houses earlier is neighbor John Stiner, farmer, 32, living with wife Catharine, 27; Regina, 7; Levi, 6; Joseph, 6; Amanuel, 5; Barbara, 4; Fanny, 3; and Aaron, 1. The children were born in Ohio, the parents in Germany [error: should be Switzerland.] His real estate was worth $2,000.

[Note: Germany is incorrect for both families; it should be Switzerland. Regina Steiner married John Bucher, son of Christian's brother Peter who lived nearby.].

2. Obituary: Herald of Truth in Mar 1881. ² Bucher. Feb 6th, near Pendleton, Putnam Co., Ohio, of diabetes and quick consumption, Bro. Ulrich Bucher, aged 34 years and 5 days. Buried in the Swiss Men. burying-ground in the presence of many relatives and acquaintances, when appropriate remarks were made by Chr. Zimmerly, John Moser and P. Shumaker, from 1 Pet. 1: 24, 25. He leaves a bereaved wife and two small children. He was prepared for the change.
