George W. Beacher, husband of Lillian Hankin Beacher [Note: her death certificate has maiden name Hampton], of 107 S. 6th st., Darby, died Saturday morning at the Bart Hahn Nursing Home Yeadon.
A prominent lodge member, Mr. Beacher belonged to the Fernwood Lodge 543 F & AM; Orphan's Rest Lodge 132, IOOF; and Te-oa-co Tribe 343, IORM. He was employed at Roberts Filter Manufacturing Co. in Darby.
Mr. Beacher, who was born in Tremont, Pa., was a resident of Darby for 65 years.
In addition to his wife he is survived by two sons, Dr. George Beacher, of Gap, and Franklin Beacher of Sharon Hill; a daughter, Mrs. Charles Piper and four grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. form the Charles H. Drewes funeral home, 920 Main St., Darby. Burial will be in Mount Moriah Cemetery and friends may call tonight.
