7. Obituary: Gazette and Daily: Obituary of Irving I. Ruler on 19 Jan 1937 in York, York, PA. ⁸ Irving I. Ruler, 142 West Jackson street, a veteran of the World war, died in the West Side sanitarium yesterday at 8 p. m. after a bried illness, due to heart trouble. He was forty-three years old. Mr. Ruler had never fully recovered from the effects of injuries sustained on June 13, 1933, when thrown from a truck.
He served four months overseas in the navy, and was master machinists' mate from May 18, 1917, until his honorable discharge on August 25, 1919.
He was a member of White Rose post, Veterans of Foreign Wars; York post, American Legion, the I. O. O. F.; Knights of Pythias, castle No. 248; a member of the Lutheran denomination, and of Augsburg Lutheran Sunday school.
Surviving him are his widow, Mary Beecher Ruler; one son, Frederick Ruler; his mother, Mrs. Ida Ruler, and the following sisters and brother: Mrs. Herbert Kottcamp, Mrs. Roy D. Flinchbaugh, Mrs. Andrew Marlowe, and Byrd H. Ruler, all of York.
Arrangements for the funeral have not been completed.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at this late residence, 142 West Jackson street, on Thursday, January 21, at 2 p. m. Interment in Prospect Hill cemetery.
Friends may call at his late residence Wednesday from 1 to 9 p. m.
