Miss Erika Ehmig Is Wed Easter Sunday To Richard Beecher

Miss Erika Ehmig, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Ehmig of Heppenheim, Germany, was united in marriage to Richard Beecher, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. A. Beecher of Shippensburg R. R. 1 on Easter Sunday. The double ring ceremony was performed at the bridegroom's home by Rev. Verle Shumacher of Centerville Lutheran church before ferns and forsythia.
The bride wore a power blue street length dress, with navy blue accessories and a corsage of gardenias. She carried a white Bible with satin ribbon.
Miss Margaret Beecher, a sister of the bridegroom, attended as maid of honor. She was attried in a powder blue dress with navy accessories and also wore a corsage of gardenias.
Lee Russell, a cousin of the bridegroom, acted as best man.
A reception followed the ceremony. Refreshments were served to 35 guests.
Mr. Beecher met his bride while serving with the U. S. army in Germany where he was stationed for 32 months. Mrs. Beecher came to the United States in January.
Mr. and Mrs. Beecher will take up housekeeping in their newly furnished house at Brookside.

Obituary: Public Opinion: Obituary of Erika Beecher on 3 Feb 1990 in Shippensburg, Cumberland, PA. 4 Shippensburg: Erika Beecher, 64, of R.R. 2, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1, 1990, in Carlisle Hospital. Born May 18, 1925, in Heppinheim, Germany, she was the daughter of the late George and Katherine Schwab. She was a member of Hays Grove United Methodist Church, near Walnut Bottom. She was the bookkeeper for her husband's business, Beecher's Roofing Co., prior to their retirement. Surviving are her husband, Richard W. Beecher Sr.; two sons, Richard W. Jr. of Newville and Juergen Ehmig of Heppinheim; a daughter, Inge Lorenc of Heppinheim; a brother, Willy Schwab of Heppinheim; seven grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday in Fogelsanger-Bricker Funeral Home Inc., 112 W. King St. The Rev. Mercy Kasembira will officiate. Burial will be in Hays Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Children's Department of Hays Grove United Methodist Church, R.R. 2, Box 846, Shippensburg 17257.
