-----
Watertown, Aug. 18 - Edgar Parkhurst, who lives between Munnsville and Knoxboro, Madison County, was picked up on the street early this morning and when he was taken to police headquarters claimed he had been robbed of $27 and his watch. The watch was found in his hip pocket, but he had no money. The police made an investigation and arrested Harry Hayden, a young man 21 years old. When Parkhurst was seeing the sights he fell in with Hayden and both became intoxicated and finally had a scuffle.
When Hayden was searched three $1 bills were found and he claimed that in the scuffle the money fell out of Parkhurst's pocket and he picked it up to keep it for him. Parkhurst's recollection of the occurences were so hazy that District Attorney Cobb did not think that a charge of highway robbery could be preferred against Hayden. He pleaded guilty to petit larceny however, and Judge McConnell sentenced him to six months in the Onondaga County Penitentiary.
