1. Obituary: 5 Roy Quinn, 74, retired Gibson City area farmer, was found hanging in the basement of his home in Gibson City by his wife at 4:40 p.m. Monday 5-19-1975 authorities said. Ford Co. Coroner R.L. Hayslette said he had been despondent because of ill health. An inquest will be scheduled, he said. The funeral was to have been at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at St. John's Lutheran Church, near Anchor, the Rev. Alexander Youck officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation was to be held at the Lamb Funeral Home in Gibson City from 3 - 5 and 7 - 9 p.m. Tuesday and at the church after 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. He was born 8-19-1900 at Charleston, a son of Henry and Emma Burro Quinn. He married Melba Beecher 11-4-1933 at Covington, Ind. Surviving are his wife; a son, Charles, Streator; a daughter, Judy Glascock, Sibley; seven grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Jess Fravala, Detroit, Mich. He had been a resident of the Gibson City area for more than 30 years and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church and the McLean County Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Pallbearers were Linden Painter, Donald Means, George Anderson, Elza Powell, Aaron Hoffman and John Hester, Sr.


Roy married Melba G. Beecher, daughter of John Edward Beecher and Maude Emma Hasty, on 4 Nov 1933 in Anchor: St. John's Lutheran Church, Mclean, IL.1 (Melba G.
