Margaret was born in Illinois, everyone else in Pennsylvania. Samuel's farm was valued at $2000 and possessions $600.

2. Census in 1870 in Lanark, Carroll, IL. ¹ Following the death of husband Samuel, we find Mary Booker, 55, living alone with her daughters Jennie, 14, and Maggie, 11. Maggie was born in Illinois, the others in Pennsylvania. Mary's real estate is worth $1000 and personal estate $300.

Next door is son Frank Booker, 26, farm labour, living on the farm of Wm Buckly [sic Buckley], 38, and his wife Nancy, 37. They were all born in Pennsylvania. The post office is Lanack.

3. Census in 1880 in Lanark, Carroll, IL. ³ Mary Booker, 63, is living with daughters Jennie, 24, school teacher; and Maggie, 21, school teacher. Mary, Jennie, and their parents were born in Pennsylvania. Jennie was born in Illinois.
