Ellen was born in Washington, her father in Illinois and mother in Tennessee. They were renting at 196 Callan Ave.

2. Census in 1920 in San Leandro, Alameda, CA. ⁴ The 1920 census recorded renting at 176 Joaquinn Avenue: B. Ellen Beecher [indexed in census as Bucher since two handwritten e's appear like a u], 40, married, no occupation, living with her children: Earl, express driver, 18; Theodore, 15; Edward, 11; Charlie, 9. The children and their father were born in California. Ellen was born in Washington, her father in North Carolina, and mother in Illinois.
