John Devine 1
Noted events in his life were: 1. Relatives To Research: We still seek proof that Patrick, Thomas, John, and Martin are brothers and the sons of John and Mary Devine. The following assumptions have been made. In Michigan in Oshtemo Township in 1870 Census, we assumed two Devines two census pages apart are brothers: Thomas and Martin. Martin has a Michigan death record in 1882 stating his parents were John and Mary Devine. Thomas in 1880 is found in the census in St. Mary's, Kansas living as neighbor to Patrick Devine, and we have newspaper articles saying they are brothers. Finally, in St. Mary's, Kansas in 1870 we find John Devine, living where Thomas moved in 1873 according to his biography, so we assume John must be another brother. A futher indication: Patrick names three sons Martin, Thomas, and John. John married Mary. (Mary was born about 1802 in , , , IRL 2.) |
