Obituary: Pottsville Republican: obituary of Fred Neumeister on 2 Aug 1950 in Pottsville, Schuylkill, PA. ⁵ Fred Neumeister, Gordon, died Tuesday afternoon at the Ashland Hospital, following an illness of several months. He had resided in Shenandoah until four years ago, and prior to that had lived in Fountain Springs. He was a member of the Reformed Church, Ashland, and last worked at Knickerbocker colliery. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of America. Surviving are his widow, Anna Swerha Neumeister, formerly of Shenandoah; two daughters, Mrs. Blanch Ermet, Gordon; Mrs. Edna Cleaver, Shamokin; six sons, Emerson, Ralph and Lamont, Gordon; Floyd, Frackville; Warren, Fountain Springs, and Clair, Phila.; two step-daughters, Mrs. Geo. Zitkus and Mrs. Peter Zagurski, Shenandoah, and one step-son, George Beacher, Shenandoah Heights; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Smith, Deep Creek; Mrs. Grant Klinger and one brother, John Neumeister, both of Hegins; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral Saturday afternoon from the home of his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Peter Zagurski, 114 N. Ferguson st., Shenandoah. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Melvin Walper and burial in Christ cemetery, Fountain Springs. J. A. Oravitz & Sons, Shenandoah, are in charge.
