Massachusetts State Census census in 1865 in Adams, Berkshire, MA. 3 The 1865 Massachusetts State Census recorded John Pugh, 54, living with wife Ann; daughters Ann Chandler, 23; Jane Beecher, 21; and Sarah Pugh, 18; and son Thomas G. Pugh, 15. All were born in North Wales. Also in the home are two sons-in-law: D. W. Chandler, 24, New York; and John Beecher, 24, Germany.

2. Census in 1870 in Taylor Twp., Cambria, PA. 4 The 1870 census listed the household of John Bueher (handwriting appears like Beecher however), 31, born in Württemberg (Germany) living with wife Jane, 26, born in Wales; Mary, 4, born in Pennsylvania; father-in-law John Pugh, 59 and his son Thomas Pugh, 17, both born in Wales. The post office was Johnstown, Pa.

4. Newspaper: Latrobe Advance: On Wednesday last John M. Beecher, an employee in the Woodvale woolen mills, near Johnstown, had his right arm torn from his body by having it caught in a "barr picker." Although he is in critical condition, it is thought he will recover., 1 Sep 1875, Latrobe, Westmoreland, PA. 5

John married Jane Pugh, daughter of John L. Pugh and Ann. (Jane Pugh was born about 1848 in Trefeglwys, MGY, Wales, GBR 8 9 10 11 and died on 31 May 1889 in Woodvale, Cambria, PA 8 10.)
