Noted events in her life were:

1. Census in 1870 in Taylor Twp., Cambria, PA. 4 The 1870 census listed the household of John Bueher (handwriting appears like Beecher however), 31, born in Württemberg (Germany) living with wife Jane, 26, born in Wales; Mary, 4, born in Pennsylvania; father-in-law John Pugh, 59 and his son Thomas Pugh, 17, both born in Wales. The post office was Johnstown, Pa.

2. Census in 1880 in Woodvale, Cambria, PA. 2 The 1800 census recorded Jane A. Beecher, 36, born in Wales, living as a widow with her children: Mary A., 14, born in Massachusetts; and two born in Pennsylvania: John B., 7; and Harry C., 5. The children's father was born in Wertemburg (Germany). They are all living in the home of John Pugh, 69. He and his parents were from Wales.

3. Cause of Death: Killed in Johnstown Flood tragedy, 31 May 1889, Johnstown, Cambria, PA. Jane was killed in the famous Johnstown Flood of 1889, per this account from the Johnstown National Memorial ( http://www.nationalparks.org/explore-parks/johnstown-flood-national-memorial )

The rain continued as men worked tirelessly to prevent the old South Fork Dam from breaking. Elias Unger, the president of the South Fork Fishing and Hunting Club, was hoping that the people in Johnstown were heeding the telegraph warnings sent earlier, which said that the dam might go. When it finally happened, at 3:10 P.M., May 31, 1889, an era of the Conemaugh Valley's history ended, and another era started. Over 2,209 people died on that tragic Friday, and thousands more were injured in one of the worst disasters in our Nation's history.

On the list of those who perished:
Beecher, Mrs. Jane, 44, Woodvale. Body not found.
Beecher, Mary, 23, Woodvale. Body not found.
