Obituary: Patriot News on 4 Dec 2011 in Harrisburg, Dauphin, PA. 13 Rhea Angela Beecher Maff, 92, of Harrisburg, passed away peacefully Friday, December 2nd, at home with her loving family by her side. She was the widow of Edward B. Maff, Sr. Rhea was born in Harrisburg, PA on April 15, 1919 daughter of the late James and Grace Beecher. She was the youngest of four siblings and was preceded in death by her three sisters, Gladys Lang, Betty Beecher and Madeline Smith. She was a member of the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick. Rhea was a vibrant woman who loved and lived life to the fullest. As a young woman, she worked for the Works Project Administra-tion (WPA) in Philadelphia. Rhea had many great loves in her life, foremost Eddie, her husband of 69 years, spending time with her family, cross-country train trips, camping and politics. She was a life-long Democrat and thrived on spirited political discussions. She was a wonderful story teller and her greatest gift was the ability to make everyone she met feel like family. Finally, Rhea influenced many lives with her positive energy. Surviving are her son, Edward B. and wife Deborah Maff, Jr. of Mechanicsburg, three daughters, Madeline A. Burridge and Sydney Summerhill of Camp Hill, Julia R. and husband Dennis Vinson of Hatboro and Angela R. Lawson of Harrisburg, 11 grand-children, Michael and wife Carol Burridge, David Burridge and fiancée Joanne Richards, Adam Burridge, Dennis and wife Elizabeth Vinson, Jr., Angela Vinson Puerzer and husband Thomas, James Vinson and Cailin Heilig, Brent and wife Ann Marie Lawson, Edward Lawson and Joslyn Defibaugh, and Justin, Jennifer and Patrick Maff, ten great grandchildren, Anthony Burridge, Jordan Lawson, Gregory and Marisa Burridge, James, Grant and Cole Vinson, Addison and Alexis Lawson and Thomas Puerzer and numerous nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 6th, in the Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick, 212 State Street, Harrisburg. Viewing will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, December 5th and from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m., Tuesday, December 6th in the Neumyer Funeral Home, Inc., 1334 N. 2nd Street, Harrisburg, Pa. 17102. Christian burial will be in the Paxtang Cemetery, Harrisburg, Pa.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to "Cathedral Parish of St. Patrick Meal Program", 212 State Street, Harrisburg, Pa. 17101.
