The marriage of Joan Dorothy Beacher, of 425 Washington street, Frackville, to Emil David Micun, 344 West Chestnut street, Frackville, was solemnized at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 7th, in the First United Methodist Church, Frackville.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. And Mrs. Arthur Beacher. Mr. Micun is the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emil Micun.

The Rev. John Zondag officiated at the double ring ceremony, assisted by the Rev. Laurence Young.

The church was adorned with an alter setting of spiral candelabra, palms, and cathedral urns of white chrysanthemums and snow drift pompoms and white gladioli.

The soloist, Winifred Etherington, sand "Through The Years", "Because", "Ich Lieb Dich", and "The Lord's Prayer". She was accompanied by the organist, Mrs. Wallace Campbell, who presented the traditional wedding processional and recessional.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride was radiant in a traditional length gown of sil faced satin designed by Adrian of California, styled with a sculptured scoop neckline, long tapered sleeves, which ended in points at the wrists. The princess bodice was hand appliqued in Rosepoint Alencon lace extending in a baroque design to the hemline of the modified A-line skirt. The detachable silk faced satin aisle width cathedral train was embellished with scattered Rosepoint Alencon lace cascading from a back Bertha Collar of lace medallions.

Her headpiece of matching satin was styled in a high cloche design and was hand beaded in cultured pearls and crystals. It was arranged on a circular bouffant tiered elbow length veil of imported white silk French Allure. She carried a full fashioned cascade arrangement of white "Jack Frost" sweetheart roses with miniature carnations and centered with white orchid.

Mrs. Fred Gibbons, of Shenandoah Heights, the bride's aunt, was the matron of honor. Mrs. Justin Smith, of Philadelphia, and Miss Betty-Jean Gibbons, of Shenandoah Heights, cousins of the bride, were the bridesmaids.

The honor attendants were clad identically in floor length gowns of aquamarine silk chiffon over taffeta, with Renoir satin necklines and full "bishop" sleeves banded in satin. The Models were designed with princess bodices outlined with narrow satin bands accented with small bows, and floating back panels of chiffon which created coat effects. They wore headpieces of aquamarine satin petals studded with crystals and back veils of French allure. They carried cascade bouquets of bridal pink roses with pink miniature carnations and eucalyptus foliage.

Miss Lori Ann Mengel, Frackville, the flower girl, was clad in a miniature version of the bridesmaids attire.

Leonard Micun, of Philadelphia, a brother of the bridegroom, was the best man. The ushers were Robert Williams, of Philadelphia; and Fred Gibbons Jr., a cousin of the bride.

Mrs. Beacher, mother of the bride, appeared in a dress and coat ensemble of aqua blue with matching accessories. Miss Jan Micun, sister of the bridegroom, wore a gold knit creation and bronze accessories. Both wore corsages of white orchids.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held at Longo's Roma Room, Saint Clair.

The couple left on a wedding trip to the Poconos.

12. Obituary: DiGiacomo Funeral Home: Obituary for Joan D. Micun on 13 Dec 2016 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia, PA. 3 JOAN MICUN (nee Beacher), age 82 or Northeast Philadelphia, formerly of Frackville, passed away on December 12, 2016. Loving mother of David Micun. Devoted wife of the late Emil Micun. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Dorothy Beacher. A memorial service for Joan will be held at Bethesda Presbyterian Church, 808 Red Lion Road, Philadelphia, PA 19115, on Monday February 6, 2017 at 7:00pm. No flowers please. Interment is private. A note from David: "In her passing, many have described my mother as 'a nice lady' and she was, but I am biased, as her son. She was a consummate mother and a mother's love is unconditional, but being a mother can be a thankless task at times. Every scraped knee is attended to, but we are quick to run off back to play. As we grow, the response to "I love you" and "I'm proud" from a mother is sometimes shrugged off with embarrassment. A child's love is eclipsed by a mother's and I do hope, in the end, that I gave enough thanks for the band-aids, the late night juices to chase away nightmares, and stopped enough to appreciate the mother's parade of love and pride that continuously marches throughout our life until that final note fades. It is my wish for anyone who knew Joan, my mother, that the next time an acknowledgement of love is given to you it is returned without hesitation, in thanks for all the mothers and their unceasing, untiring, and unconditional love and in memory of 'a nice lady' you once knew. Thank you Mom for all the love and the memories - your son, David. ."
