5. Obituary: Franklin News-Herald: obituary of Mrs. Raymond Shorts on 20 Apr 1954 in Franklin, Venango, PA. 4 Mrs. Ida May Shorts, 72, of 115 North Thirteenth Street, died in the Franklin Hospital at 6:20 p. m. Monday following an illness of several months. She was the wife of Raymond Shorts Sr.
She was born Oct. 28, 1881 in Franklin, the daughter of William Henry and Mary Lucyna White Beecher. She had been a resident of the Franklin area for many years and was a member of the Cavalry Baptist church and the Eagles Auxillary, No. 328.
Survivng besides her husban are two sons, Raymond Shorts Jr., of Holgate, O., and Harry, of Franklin; a sister, Mrs. Lucyna Wilt, and a brother, Edward Beecher, of Lima, O.; nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
The body was removed to the Buchanan Funeral Home where friends may call and where services will be held at 2 p. m. Thursday. Rev. Howard Ruth, pastor of the Cavalry Baptist Church, will officiate and interment will be made in the Franklin Cemetery.


Ida married Raymond Harry Shorts Sr., son of Wesley Shorts and Catherine Tibbens, on 24 Dec 1903 in Franklin, Venango, PA.1 (Raymond Harry Shorts Sr. was born on 11 Nov 1882 in Franklin, Venango, PA,1 6 7 died on 3 Nov 1957 in Holgate, Henry, OH 7 and was buried on 5 Nov 1957 in New Bavaria, Henry, OH 7.)
