Miller who celebrated his 83rd birthday on Christmas Day. Mr. Miller who resides at Burgner's Station, near Scotland, retired 22 years ago as a laborer with the Pennsylvania railroad company after having been with the company for 47 years. Mr. Miller who is in good health moved to the Scotland community 60 years ago from Newburg. He received many cards, gifts and good wishes on his Christmas birthday and also enjoyed his Christmas dinner on that day at the home of a daughter and family, Mrs. Samuel Beecher, Walnut Bottom.

He had been in ill health all his life, and seriously ill for two weeks. Mr. Miller was born Aug. 11, 1912, in Burgners Station, Greene Township, son of the late Samuel J. and Mary C.
Garman Miller. He was a member of Guilford Hills Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sisters: Miss Mary I. Miller, R.R. 1; Mrs.
Robert (Esther) Douglas, Scotland; Mrs. Samuel (Elizabeth) Beecher, R.R. 1, Shippensburg, a number of nieces and nephews, including Gerald and Leona Beecher, both of R.R. 1.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the John O. Park Funeral Home, in charge of the Rev. Woodrow W. Newman and the Rev. Howard G. Butts Jr. Burial will be in Norland Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
