Shafer, 93, Rt. 2, died at 6:19 a.m. today in Canterbury Manor Nursing Home, Rochester. She was born Dec. 30, 1893, in Cass County to James R. and Lucretia Cline Robinson. She was married April 12, 1914, in Royal Center to George A. Shafer, who died Dec. 24,1985. She was a homemaker and former schoolteacher. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Royal Center, and the Women's Society at the church. Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Elaine Shafer, Rt. 2, Royal Center, and Geneva Shafer, Rt. 5; two grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Two sons, two sisters, two brothers and one great-granddaughter preceded in death. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in Harrison- Metzger Funeral Home, with the Revs. Mike Anderson and Steve Laue officiating. Burial will be in Royal Center Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday and from 8 a.m. until the hour of service Wednesday in the funeral home.
