Kilhefner Keffer, he was born in Spring Township, Berks County, a son of the late John and Ellen Beecher Keffer. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are three children, Mrs. Thelma Buohl, Adamstown; Esta, wife of Ralph Vernon Ansel, Reamstown; and Walter D., Reinholds R2; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five sisters, Edith, wife of Elmer Shirk; Nora Althouse and Stella, wife of Carl Trostle, all of Mohnton R2; Elsie, wife of William Werner, Marietta, Ga.; and Anna, wife of Elmer B. Martin, Ephrata.

Walter married Dorothy I. Kilhefner. (Dorothy I. Kilhefner was born on 8 Mar 1913 in Hinkletown, Lancaster, PA,⁴ died on 27 Feb 1996 in Myerstown, Lebanon, PA ⁴ and was buried in Adamstown: Cedar Grove Cemetery, Lancaster, PA ⁴.)
