Next door is George's son, George Gulden Jr., farmer, 30, living with wife Catharine, 21; and son Henry, 10 months when the census was recorded on 27 Aug 1850. George Sr's property is valued at $3000, and Jr. has no property value, suggesting he is living on his father's land. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania.

2. Census in 1860 in Mount Pleasant Twp., Adams, PA. ⁴ The 1860 census recorded George Gulden, farmer, 40, living with wife Kate, 33; son Henry, 11; Carolina, 9; John, 6; William, 5; and Mary, 6 months. Everyone was born in Pennsylvania except Kate in Hessen Darmstadt, Germany. The post office was New Oxford.

3. Obituary: New Oxford Item: Death of George Gulden on 6 May 1898 in New Oxford, Adams, PA. ² George Gulden died on last Thursday, at the house of his son, H. Gulden, near Bendersville, aged 81 years. He is survived by a number of children. Deceased was a brother of John Gulden, of this place, and Emanuel Gulden, of Gulden's Station. Deceased resided for many years near Livingston's blacksmith shop in Mount Pleasant Township.
