He was born on April 14, 1946 in Springfield, the son of the late William Sr. and Victoria (Adams) Cooper. He is survived by his siblings, Bill Jr. (Dixie) Cooper, Norma (Philip) Harris, Candace (Rocky) Potts and Barbara (Dave) Nightingale; brother-in-law, Brice (Clara) Gordon; nieces and nephews, Marty, Crystal, Troy, Kim, Pam, Chris, Tracy, Tim, Denise, Lanette, Harley, Troy, Suzanne, Amanda, Brian and Jennifer; special friends, Ron Pyles ad Ralph Whitehead; and numerous other friends. He is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Gordon and Nephew, Jamie. Gene was a proud veteran in the United States Marine Corp. He was a part owner of Vermillion Cooper and later was the private owner of Gene Cooper Enterprises. He was an avid motorcyclist and had numerous riding buddies. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2015 at 2 p.m. at JACKSON LYTLE & LEWIS LIFE CELEBRATION CENTER, with visitation held two hours prior beginning at 12. Entombment will follow at Rose Hill Burial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the VFW Post 1031 Grimes -Kohl, 1237 E Main St, Springfield, OH 45503.
