A WELL KNOWN RAILROAD MAN DIES IN A HOSPITAL AT MISSOULA.
---
The funeral of Daniel Simms Foster, who died in a hospital in Missoula on May 17, will be held at Flanerty's undertaking chapel tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. The services will be conducted by the Rev. J. F. McNamee, pastor of the First Baptist church. Interment will be at Forestvale cemetery.
Mr. Foster was well known in Helena, having lived here since 1908. On April 23, he was sent to the Northern Pacific hospital at Missoula, for medical treatment. For a time it appeared that he would recover but later he became worse, and continued to sink until his death, May 17. The body was brought to Helena by his brother-in-law, W. J. Haynes.
The deceased is survived by his fattier, Thomas B. Foster, of La Fayette, Indiana; a brother, Charles T. Foster, of Hood River, Oregon; and three sisters, Mrs. Mary E. Ford and Mrs. Leon E. Foley of Hood River, and Mrs, Lida B. Haynes of Helena.
Came to Montana in 1862. "Dan" Foster, as he was famillarly known, was 39 years old at the time of his death. He was born December 19, 1873, near Fort Wayne, Kansas. His parents moved to Indiana, their native state, when he was very small, later returning to Kansas, thence to Dakota territory in 1883.
He came to Montana in 1902, residing at or near Big Tlmber, until 1908, and since that time has made his home in Helena, being employed most of the time by the Northern Pacific Railway company, in this city.
He met with a serious accident about 20 years ago, when a portion of the frontal bone was torn away by a gunshot wound. This was one cause of his untimely demise.
