Obituary: Hickory Daily Record: obituary of Norman Edgerton Callaway on 19 Jun 2013 in Hickory, Catawba, NC. ² Norman Edgerton Callaway, 78, of Maiden, passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2013, at Iredell Memorial Hospital in Statesville. Born Aug. 11, 1934, in Iredell County, he was the son of the late Raymond C. Callaway and the late Marie, Honeycutt Callaway. He was a member of Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden.

Norman and his wife, Jean, were blessed with 45 years of marriage; he was a veteran of the U.S. Navy; served in the Korean War and was a retired sales manager for Henkel Corporation. In addition to his parents, a son, Stacey Callaway; brother, Grady Callaway; two sisters, Elizabeth Holt and Judy Trey, preceded him in death. Survivors include his wife, Jean F. Callaway, of the home; two daughters, Karen Callaway, of Mooresville and Deborah Snipes and husband, Joe, of Columbia, S.C.; three sons, Jeff Callaway, of Advance, Todd and Helga Callaway, of Hickory and Scott Callaway, of Mocksville; five grandsons, Tyler and Sammy Callaway, Preston Witherspoon, Chris Beeker and wife, Heather and Joey Snipes; three granddaughters, Natalie Witherspoon, Abby Callaway and LaDonna Beeker; and two greatgrandsons, Ryan and Nathan Beeker.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22, at 2 p.m. at Providence Road Baptist Church in Maiden with Pastor Charles Worley and Pastor Tanner Mundy officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends, prior to the service, from 1 to 1:45 p.m. at the church.
