1. Obituary: on 7 Sep 2010. Ivan Glen Bacon, son of Ivan C. and Mary "Mollie" Scott Bacon, was born April 6, 1920, in Lebanon, Missouri. He departed this life Saturday, September 4, 2010, in Christian Health Care North, in Lebanon, Missouri, at the age of ninety years, four months, and twenty-eight days.

On December 9, 1939, he was united in marriage to Mary Louise Saunders, and to this union four daughters and one son were born.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Louise, on November 4, 1998; a granddaughter, Heather Miller; and two sisters, Tina Mae Stotts, and Mary Buckley.

Glen is survived by four daughters, Deanna Fort, and her husband, Ralph, of Lebanon, Missouri, Judy Vaughan, and her husband, Jerry, of Springfield, Missouri, Glenda Weaver, and her husband, Gary, of Plano, Texas, and Donna West, and her husband, Donnie, of Lebanon, Missouri; a son, Randy Bacon, and his wife, Shannon, of Springfield, Missouri; sixteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Davis, of Chicago, Illinois; a number of nieces and nephews; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

He was born and raised in Lebanon, Missouri, and then, after he and Louise were married, they made their home in Lebanon, and lovingly raised their children. He was the owner and operator of Bacon Radio and TV Sales and Service in downtown Lebanon for many years. He also owned Niangua Cable Company in Camdenton, Missouri.

Glen was a longtime member of Second Baptist Church in Lebanon.

He and Louise were a very devoted and loving couple, and where you saw one, you usually saw the other. They worked together in the store and had a very successful business. They enjoyed spending time at their place on the Lake of the Ozarks, where Glen liked to go fishing. He also enjoyed going to auctions, and digging trenches for cable lines. He possessed a very sharp mind and a delightful sense of humor. His family was very important to him and he especially enjoyed his grandchildren.

Glen was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, and uncle, and was a caring neighbor and friend. We celebrate his life and his accomplishments and will remember him as a devoted family man, a dedicated businessman, and a good friend.

Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010, at Holman-Howe Funeral Home, Lebanon, Missouri. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery near Russ, MO.
