Obituary: Grandview Funeral Home on 3 Mar 2014 in Sparta, Alleghany, NC. ^{1 2} Maxine Dorothy Hart, age 79 of 15142 NC Hwy 18 S, Laurel Springs, NC died Monday, March 3, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC. She was born February 23, 1935 in Ashe County to the late Lester and Ettie Hamm Neaves. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Fred Hart, Jr.,; three brothers, Harold, Floyd and Ford Neaves; two sisters, Pauline Johnson and Lorene Hamby; one granddaughter, Holly Nicole Tompkins. She is survived by four daughters, Ann Perry and husband Dennie of Ennice, Diane Poe of the home, Cynthia Gail Tompkins and husband Steve of Sparta, Janet Garvey and husband Doug of Galax, VA; two sons, Jeffery Hart and Rex Hart both of Galax, VA; seven grandchildren, Sammy Perry, Travis Garvey, Chase Garvey, Lauren Garvey, Tyler Tompkins and Lacey Tompkins; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Scott Neaves of Crumpler; one sister, Myrl Miller of Millers Creek; several nieces and nephews also survive. The Hart family requests the honor of your presence at the funeral service to honor the life of Maxine on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Grandview Memorial Funeral Home in Sparta with Reverend Roger Pickett and Pastor Phil Edwards officiating. Interment will follow at Transou Methodist Church Cemetery in Ashe County. The family will receive friends starting at 12:00 noon until time of the service at the funeral home and other times at the home of Ann and Dennie Perry, 13167 Hwy 18 N, Ennice, NC. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Transou Cemetery Fund, c/o Mary Sue Royal, 9000 NC Hwy 88 E., Laurel Springs, NC 28644.
